Artistic and Stylistic Range of Young Artists' Works

Possessing a gift for painting, most of them take their professional culture seriously, focusing on the tasks of realistically reflecting the life of the people. In their work, there is a search for thematic direction, and a unique plastic language is being developed. A characteristic feature of contemporary youth art is the peculiar interaction of various figurative-emotional elements — expressive-dramatic when addressing historical-revolutionary themes and harmoniously clear when dealing with the theme of everyday life, which is usually resolved in a lyrical, chamber manner. These artists work in various genres, preferring thematic paintings and compositional multi-session portraits. They learn to see the larger form in an abstract, holistic way, professionally addressing compositional issues such as conveying movement, placing specific forms in space, balancing primary colors, and achieving a cohesive color solution. They learn to think figuratively, using professional skills to tackle complex creative tasks.

The artistic and stylistic range of young artists' works is broad. The current generation of young artists, with rare exceptions, no longer feels the strong influence of the art of the 1920s and 1930s, as was the case with artists of the 1960s and 1970s. The heightened emotionality of the figurative structure has given way to rational concentration, and the painterly quality with its unique texture has replaced the plastic definiteness of form. The purely painterly tradition has developed in a rather limited number of works.

In their work, a sharpened interest in the history of the country and its heroic past is clearly evident. Almost every artist of the young generation has addressed the theme of revolution, civil war, or the Great Patriotic War. In addressing these themes, there is always an emotional thread reflecting a personal relationship to history, as facts in the biographies of their fathers and mothers. It is no coincidence that there is a passionate interest in documents and photographs, and a renewed interest in narrative and detailed composition, where each depicted element represents not only factual but also aesthetic value. This emerging trend marks the beginning of a new stage in Kyrgyz painting — a unique creative laboratory of the visual arts of the republic.
