JSC "Auto Repair Plant".One of the leading industries in the city, with 70 percent of its gross product volume accounted for by JSC "ARZ".
The enterprise was built in 1952 due to an acute production necessity.
The mining enterprises of the country urgently needed a plant for repairing machines used in quarries for ore extraction and supply, which had to be equipped with the necessary decontamination means, as the repaired equipment posed a radiation hazard.
Such a plant became ARZ, where equipment was delivered from all corners of the country, from Leningrad to Transbaikalia.
Initially, it was just a workshop headed by Vasily Demyanovich Solontsev. The workshop expanded into a plant, managed by Ivan Borisovich Gorbunov. Since 1987, the chairman of the board of JSC "ARZ" has been Vladimir Vasilyevich Petunin.
Over the years, the plant has undergone four reconstructions due to the release of new car models.
In 1997, like many divisions of the mining and processing plant, "ARZ" separated and became a joint-stock company. Its profile has been preserved and remains so to this day. The enterprise includes four main workshops: for the repair of diesel engines and units, assembly, mechanical, and separate specialized sections: for assembly, repair of cranes, carburetor engines, BelAZ trucks, repair and re-equipment of LAZ, LIAZ, Ikarus buses, T-330 tractors, armored personnel carriers, and military equipment. The technical department is equipped with all working drawings from the manufacturers of automotive equipment of the former Soviet Union, so ARZ is capable of repairing cars of all modifications produced at the CIS factories in the shortest possible time, as well as components for all transport units.
All new developments, technological equipment, and non-standard tools are manufactured by the technical department in the experimental section.
Capital repairs of units fully comply with the requirements for new equipment, and the cost of capital repairs does not exceed 30-35% of the cost of new ones.
The plant provides a warranty for all capital repaired equipment.
JSC "Electroterm"Opened as branch No. 1 of the non-standard equipment plant in 1973 for the production of supports for power lines and various metal containers.
In 1984, it was renamed the experimental plant "Progress" and continued to produce the same products, remaining a medium-sized enterprise until 1991, when, thanks to the efforts of director Ivan Nikiforovich Gladyshev, it entered into cooperation with the Korean company "Goldstar". According to the agreement, components were supplied from Korea to the Karabalta branch, from which products of world standards were assembled: refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens. The products of the Karabalta plant became in great demand, production expanded, but soon the supply of parts ceased, and the contract was terminated.
In 1997, "Electroterm", like other components of the KGRK, separated and became a joint-stock company. However, it maintained a connection with the related enterprise - it began producing metal barrels for transporting uranium concentrate to foreign consumers. This product is still being manufactured today. The production of electric convectors has also been established. In the last two years, a large special order was fulfilled: ramps for work in the tunnel during the restoration of the "Bishkek-Osh" highway.
Thanks to the wide range of work, the plant fulfilled the 2000 production plan for commodity products by 105.8%. The plant was also headed by Viktor Vasilyevich Marakhovsky, Tolekul Dzhakanovich Akhmetov, Totugul Dzhumagulovna Dzhumagulova, Musa Abdievich Ibraimov, and Zhetimishbay Akmatovich Boykonov.
