Care for the Health of Osh Residents
Founded in 1931. It was located in adobe buildings and combined adult and pediatric departments - (therapeutic, surgical, gynecological), and an operating room. Until 1946, the chief physician of the hospital was Efremov, then until 1951 - Kasymov, and from 1961 to 1964 - Vdovichenko. From 1964, for 30 years, the chief physician of the hospital was Vitaly Prokopyevich Sergeev. During this period, new hospital buildings were constructed, and departments were opened: emergency, eye, ear, urological, surgical, neurological, trauma, intensive care, operating rooms, pharmacy, X-ray room, etc.
As a result of public inspections of the healthcare institution's work, the staff of the Osh Regional Hospital was awarded diplomas and the Transitioning Red Banner. The hospital, designed for 805 beds, is one of the major healthcare institutions in southern Kyrgyzstan. For his significant contributions, Vitaly Prokopyevich Sergeev - a surgeon of the highest qualification category, candidate of medical sciences (published 10 scientific works) was awarded the medal for valiant labor (1970), received the honorary title of Honored Doctor of the Kyrgyz SSR (1973), awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1981), the Order of Lenin (1986), and was given the title of People's Doctor of the USSR. He was elected Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR three times. The regional hospital employs 1,225 staff members, including V. Prikhorenko, P. Bantyukov, A. Keshishev, A. Kambarov, N. Abdukhairova, L. Smirnova, U. Usmanov, and others. Since 1994, the chief physician of the hospital has been A. Baysanov, and the deputy is T. Sharmata. All of them continue the glorious traditions of V. P. Sergeev.
To ensure the residents of Osh have access to medications, a pharmacy management system was established in the city, with L. Markman as its first director. At that time, there were 2 pharmacies and a branch at the silk factory operating in the city. Later, the managers were K. Kuluyev, L. Bochkareva, and G. Oleshko (1960-1973). From 1973 to 1991 (until appointed as the head of the republic's pharmacy management), the city pharmacy management was headed by E. Arstanbaev. He strengthened the material base of the management and staffed it with qualified personnel. In 1993, A. Kozhaev took over the pharmacy management. More than 50 people work in the 20 pharmacies of the city of Osh, including M. Khashimov, M. Valiev, M. Karimova, M. Sadikova, Y. Khakimov, G. Buslaev, A. Bornoshev, and others.
The Osh Recreation House was established in 1924. Every year, 9,587 people rest here. The number of service staff is 110 people. A new building was constructed in 1965, and the food block was built in 1968. Each session here strengthens the health of 675 people from different regions of Kyrgyzstan. The recreation house has become a leisure zone for the population of Osh.
