Semetey's trip to Talas. Part - 2

Bölökbay was a soulful friend
The chief over the disabled guarding the treasury
In appearance, himself quite ugly
With sad eyelids hanging over his mournful eyes

After the death of the khan, Abike and Këbësh
Dividing the property, they beat Bölökbay
Since then, he wandered in the mountains
With the disabled, hunting for a living
That day, Bölökbay had a dream
That, at last, Semetey had returned
He then summoned his forty disabled
Decided to find Bakay as soon as possible

He climbed on a watch stone
Saw that Bakay was in a shirt, looking
Peering into the distance once more, he noticed
Someone was standing next to Bakay

Taking his forty disabled with him
He set off towards Bakay
Valukh, the gray one, whom he had fed for twelve years
To be slaughtered upon Semetey's arrival

When he arrived, he saw Bölökbay
That the long-awaited Semetey had come
- This is how Allah arranges our affairs!
He found a breath of joy in his sorrow

He told of the troubles he had endured
That there was no clothing to cover the poor bodies
Seeing this, Semetey led the disabled to the cave
And dressed them all from head to toe

Then Semetey left with Bakay
Ordered Bölökbay to stay in place
On the way, Bakay told of his campaigns
Showed the lands conquered by Manas

- During your father's lifetime, the sultan
We did not encounter lands on our path
That would not submit to us
And the celebration lasted several weeks!

Your father obeyed me in everything
He did not make decisions without me
Not even a month passed after the funeral
When we bore grievances and persecutions

From the tortures endured, Kanykey
Fled to Bukhara, how sad!
All this was done by your grandfather, the villain!
Bakay pointed his hand into the distance
- Look, do you see there? – that is the aul of Jakyp
You stay here, avoiding the bitterness of troubles
And I will go and find out what your ungrateful and mad grandfather is plotting?

We cannot go into the yurt together
Without carefully observing everything with a cautious eye
He has a pit for us, in forty spans
And a brew, poisoned with venom!

Bakay went alone to the aul
Jakyp could not contain his spite
- You dog, Bakay! You persuaded Kanykey's bitch!
To leave us, to run to her homeland!

For killing my batyrs
I will deal with you and chop off your head!
Saying this, he became even more enraged
Bakay replied, in his turn:

- Don't get heated, old man, don't make a scene
What you said, there is no falsehood in it
I came to settle scores for the grievances
That you caused, over twelve years!

The glorious Semetey came with me
Now we have enough strength to capture you
I will tear off your head myself, quickly
And now I can kill you myself!

Jakyp's face suddenly changed:
- My dear, long-awaited Bakay-khan
Such joy Allah has sent me
Is it true that Semetey has recovered from his wounds?

Take my property, for this news
If you want, take my life
But just show me the orphan
I want to see him so much, understand!

Bakay could not immediately understand him
Where he speaks the truth, and where lies
- I will bring the young man to you, you can wait
If you want to see him so badly, impatiently!
He himself went out, mounted his horse
Rode away and secretly returned again
He stood near the yurt, eavesdropping, not in vain
What the brief conversation turned into

Jakyp called the old woman Bakdëyölët
Told her that Semetey had arrived
The one left from the bloodsucker, from Manas
- He will not leave the children in peace!

- What only his father did to me
By force he resettled me here from Altai
Took away my property, scattered it to the wind
He is also waiting for trouble from Semetey!

While he is still young and powerless
We will destroy him, without trouble
Pour honey to Bakay, poison to Semetey
Let him drink, and at that moment die!

Bakdëyölët jumped up, stung like a bee:
- Unfortunate old man, may you die a vile death!
You are not a Muslim and therefore it is wrong
Such thoughts fly in a whirlwind!

- So that you die like a sinister victim
With your six own sons!
Did you forget how well we lived under Manas?
Now it is terrible, compared to those days!

Jakyp, trembling with rage, with his whole body
Rose from his place and declared:
- Don't want to carry out the order? Then take this!
And with a stick, he immediately smashed her head!

The old woman Bakdëyölët obediently began to carry out the order
Saving her life, the old woman Bakdëyölët
Hiding, Bakay heard everything in ambush
And told Semetey about it in advance

- When we are at Jakyp's
I will drink what will be served at lunch
But you do not drink, just say to Jakyp:
- “First you drink, my dear grandfather!”
Greeting, Semetey entered his grandfather's house
The old man hugged him, began to cry loudly:
- I am happy that you are alive and healthy!
I am glad that you can be with me!

From those who have been in your lands
I constantly inquired about your well-being
I heard that Kanykey fled, having made a wish
Toitor – the horse, he received the winning prize!

Jakyp began to cry even more
And kissing the boy, lamenting
- My little colt, you surely want to drink?
Old woman, bring it! – he shouted, turning to his wife

Obediently, Bakdëyölët brought the drink
Bakay immediately began to drink his share
The old woman tried to warn Semetey
But he raised the drink to his grandfather and said:

- Drink, grandfather, you first!
- Drink yourself, my light, it seems you are tired!
The thirst has probably tormented you
In response, Jakyp said - “Drink!” - kindly

- To drink before me is an impolite act
Semetey stubbornly stood his ground
- After your father's death – Jakyp insisted
I vowed, never to take any drinks!

- No, grandfather, you just take a sip
The grandson brought the bowl to Jakyp's lips
As soon as the bowl approached his mouth
The poison immediately singed Jakyp's beard

- If you do not drink, who will drink?
Semetey splashed it on the dog that was nearby
The spilled drink was sniffed by the dog and it died
Burned by the deadly and treacherous poison!

Semetey was engulfed by mad rage
He boldly raised the bowl above Jakyp's head
The gray old man's hair was singed
And his head suddenly went bald
Semetey wanted to kill him, grabbing him by the collar
In response, he did not want to accept shame
He stopped in time and came to his senses
Decided not to kill Jakyp – the old man!

While Semetey was fighting with Jakyp
Bakay grabbed Manas's white khurjun
Placed it on the saddle of his horse
And told Semetey, without embellishment:

- Here is your reward from your own grandfather
You will live, you will see much more!
They headed back to Bölökbay
Semetey took Manas's khurjun on the road

On the way, Bakay remembered the feats of Manas
Exalted the feats of Almambet
Told how he once fled from China
How much valor he had in him, how much strength!

Dying, Almambet said:
- I ask you, my brother, Bakay! Just give me your blessing!
Now my wife, Aruuke, is expecting a child
Give him a name, when he is born, Kulchoro!
