At that time, Semetey, riding
Taking Kulchoro and Kanchoro with him
Catching many geese and bustards
Were returning home to their aiyl from the hunt
- You are always leaving me!
Chachikey said, coming out to meet him
Taking Akshumkara – the falcon with her
Each time I miss you more and more!
Semetey then got off his horse
His wife began to caress him
Kulchoro took the horse away, Akshumkara – Kanchoro carried off
Aichurek quietly watched this
- If Chachikey is with me
I will consider her an elder sister
I will serve her willingly
Aichurek thought to herself
If she does not agree
To accept my planned game
It will be worse for her then
I will forcibly take her husband away!
Meanwhile, they sat down for dinner
The swan took on the appearance of a human
Hiding from people, she went around the aiyl
Approaching them as close as she could
Chachikey saw her
Throwing a fur coat made of beaver over her shoulders
Taking forty young women with her
She proudly went out to meet Aichurek
- My dear sister!
Aichurek said, pretending to be a friend
Take me as your younger sister
I will be a faithful servant for you!
I will give all my strength to work
Chop wood and carry out the ashes
I will be obedient and loyal to you
I will completely give myself into servitude!
Aichurek told Chachikey
A contract had been made between Akhun and Manas
For the betrothal-marriage of Semetey with Aichurek
When they were not yet in the world, since then
Chachikey replied to this:
- There is no bride, no father-in-law!
You are lying, mare!
That is my answer to you!
A spoiled woman, who seeks a husband
Will not be taken by Khan Semetey!
Many more insults and slurs
Chachikey hurled at her as she left!
Offended Aichurek said:
- I came to honor the memory of Manas
But, since you treat me this way
I will take Akshumkara without wasting time!
Let me not be Aichurek if I do not leave
You as an abandoned, humiliated wife
Let Akun-khan become my husband then
If I do not fulfill my plan!
After these words, she turned again
Into a white swan and flew away without saying goodbye
Chachikey lost consciousness
And lay silently for eight days
Knowing nothing, Semetey
Decided to go hunting with Akshumkara, in the wild
Taking Kulchoro and Kanchoro with him
He began to prepare to go to the open field
Chachikey, grabbing the horse by the reins
Asked her husband not to go hunting
- Know your own business! Your own work!
Semetey replied: - Do not dare to teach men!
With a whip strike, he struck her back
Chachikey did not cease her pleas
Calling Kulchoro and Kanchoro
She began to plead with them in tears:
- I had a terrible dream at night!
On the road, you will see silk lying
Do not let Semetey take it
Do not let Akshumkara go, this is the meaning of the dream!
As soon as Semetey went hunting
He saw the silk and decided to stop
He turned to Kulchoro and said:
- Take the prey, it will be useful to us!
Remembering Chachikey's words
Kulchoro suddenly jumped off his horse
He threw the silk into a deep pit
Covered it with a stone the size of a yurt
Long after that, they hunted
Caught many bustards, many geese
Returning, they passed the shore of the lake
There Semetey saw a white swan!
He decided to send Khan Akshumkara after it
But, Kulchoro stopped him, not forgetting his own:
- I have not hunted with Akshumkara yet
I will let him go after the swan! Give him to me!
Not wishing to offend his brother
Semetey gave him the falcon
Kulchoro went openly after the swan
So that the bird would fly away quickly!
But, it did not fly away, Kulchoro said:
- She has chicks, let us not seek sin
If we kill her, the chicks will be left
Let me not let Akshumkara go!
Semetey got angry at this:
- The clumsiness of the falcon will not tame
You will unnecessarily scare the bird
And it will fly away right now!
He snatched the falcon from Kulchoro's hands
And himself sent Akshumkara after the swan
The falcon struck her and flew away
Immediately came the punishment for the deed!
Semetey wanted to take the swan in his hands
But, she did not yield to him
She took Akshumkara in an instant
And rose up high with him!
Semetey did not have time to catch them
He jumped on his horse and with wild determination
Rode after them with all his strength
Wounding the white swan with his spear
Aichurek – it was she.
Fearing that Semetey would catch her
She summoned, with her charms, thick clouds
He lost the trail leading to her.
