Green Salad with Suzyma


Have you heard of the delicacy called suzma? In short, it is a fermented milk product obtained by separating whey from katyk. In terms of consistency, it resembles sour cream, but the taste is different. The name of the product translates from Turkic as "strained," which fully reflects its preparation method.

Ready suzma is eaten as a standalone dish, added to salads and soups. Suzma (suzma) can have different consistencies; a thicker version is suitable for pâtés, and it is often served with radishes and horseradish. A more liquid version is used to dress salads. Today, we suggest preparing one of the salad variations.

How to make "Green Salad with Suzma":
To prepare the salad, gather all the ingredients from the list:
fresh cucumbers - 4 pcs,
dill, cilantro, green onions - 30 g each,
green onions - 20 g,
suzma - 50 g,
ground red pepper - 1 g.
salt - to taste.

Preparation method:
Peel the fresh cucumbers and cut them into thin strips. Rinse all the herbs, dill, cilantro, and green onions, dry them, and chop finely.

Transfer all the prepared ingredients to a salad bowl.

Dress the salad with suzma. The less suzma you add, the thicker the salad will be. Mix everything thoroughly; if desired, you can add salt and pepper. Garnish with a sprig of cilantro and pomegranate seeds.

The green salad with suzma is ready to serve.
