Maternal Love

Once upon a time, there was a woman who had an only son. When he grew up and matured, he fell in love with a capricious beauty.

The chosen one demanded that he fulfill three of her wishes to test the strength of his love.

First, she asked him to bring her a rare moon flower, the aiygul, which grows among high mountains. The young man fulfilled her request.

Then the girl demanded a fur coat made from the skin of a tiger he had killed. The lover fulfilled this wish as well.

The third wish of the cruel beauty was incredible: "If you love me, tear out your mother's heart and show it to me!"

Driven mad by passion, the young man killed his mother. On the way, carrying his mother's bloody heart in his hands, he stumbled and fell. And suddenly the heart spoke: "Son, does it hurt you?"

There it is, boundless maternal love and kindness!

The Power of Love is Great ("Flowers of the Desert")

The story of this beautiful and mad love between two young people began on a long and exhausting pilgrimage to the holy Mecca.

He was a simple guy named Kaltegin, chosen by the village elders as the most worthy candidate to perform the Hajj to Mecca. She was a young 17-year-old beauty, Gulbagym, the wife of a sheikh.

One after another, in a neat line, a large group of people was on the way, leading a caravan of camels loaded with travel gear. In this unhurried crowd, during rest stops, the young man managed to meet the gaze of the young beauty in a veil. Catching her gaze, he realized that a spark had flashed between them. He was overwhelmed by a passionate desire to see her mysterious face without the veil. Only after a month of exhausting travel, risking being seen by the sheikh, they managed to meet secretly and confess their love to each other.

These secret meetings, full of love and hot confessions, continued when they were already on the holy ground of Mecca. Both understood perfectly well that they were committing a terrible sin, but their madness, their crazy love for each other helped them overcome this fear.

However, the end of this love story was very tragic.

Upon learning of his young wife's infidelity and that the recently born baby was not his son, the sheikh ordered his servants to behead the young lovers. They were secretly buried in one grave by one of Gulbagym's devoted servants. The servant was the only witness to their otherworldly love, and to preserve this secret and their memory, he took the baby with him.

And on their grave, two scarlet tulips grew, unseen in these parts on the parched, sun-baked land of Mecca.

Truly, the power of love is great!
