The Teachings of the Nomad

A young man moved to live in a separate yurt after getting married. He went with his family to the first summer pasture on the jailoo and began to ask the elders for advice on everything. The elders told him:

- There are three laws: the laws (rules) of how to keep livestock you know, there are the laws of nature that you must always observe, and the law of family - you must do everything together with your wife.

Mountains
Wisdom comes with age

A young jigit decided to leave the mountain aiyl for the big city, and he said goodbye:

- If I settle well, I won't come back here anymore, goodbye!

To which his father replied:

- You are not the first to go to the city, but remember, everyone eventually returns. The city is made by human hands, while the mountains are made by God. Life in the city moves very fast; everyone is in a hurry, becoming angry, while life in the mountains is measured, everything goes in its own order, everything is accessible: water, grass, mountains - here is your refuge, the homeland of your ancestors and your children. You will definitely return.

Hunting

Wisdom comes with age

Once, hunters went into the mountains for game. One of them was an old and experienced hunter, the other was a young, inexperienced, but energetic jigit.

At first, they encountered a large argali, strong with big horns. The young hunter immediately drew his gun, aimed, and wanted to shoot, but the older one stopped him.

- Why did you stop me? - the young man asked, not understanding.

- Because this is not an ordinary argali, but the leader of the herd; if you kill him, the whole herd will be left without a leader.

They went further. Soon they came across a doe nursing her fawn.

The young jigit prepared to shoot, but his more experienced companion stopped him again.

- Why did you stop me again? - the young hunter asked again.

- You cannot kill a female with a fawn, just like you cannot enter a house when a mother is nursing her child.

- When can I shoot then? - the young man exclaimed indignantly.

The craft of a hunter is a complex matter; you must know well whom you can hunt so that in the future your descendants, children, and grandchildren can also hunt in these places. You cannot leave a herd without a leader, nor a fawn without a mother; we must not harm the animals. Hunting is not just a practice in shooting, but a complex art of obtaining food from nature without causing it harm.
