Reins
The caravan was moving through the gorge. At the very front was the respected elder, followed by younger relatives, and at the end were the youngest.
A young jigit, who was in the middle, was constantly talking about something, asking various questions, and generally did not stop. The elder said to him:
- Jigit, hold your reins.
The jigit pulled on the reins and the horse stopped, while the caravan continued moving.
The jigit caught up with the caravan again and resumed his meaningless chatter.
The elder said to him again:
- Son, hold your reins.
- But when I hold them, my horse stops, and you leave and don’t wait for me?
- No, son, I wanted you to hold your tongue.
Who is More Important?
A blind and very wise elder was approached for advice.
- When will there be peace and stability in our village? When there are many poor or many rich?
- When there are many poor people, it is not a disaster; when there are many rich, it is not an achievement; but when there are many people satisfied with their lives, that is peace.
The Orator
A general meeting of the villagers was taking place, and everyone who wanted to speak, including the elders, the rich, and the poor, had the opportunity. The elders said that everything was fine in the village, everything was going as it should. However, the poor did not speak; they said they would wait for the Chechen - the orator.
The orator was late, and then the elders asked: Why should we wait for him, when all of you are here to take the floor and we will listen to you?
You said that everything is fine with us, but the representative will tell the Truth; his strength lies in words and in justice, one of the present poor replied.
Love for God
One day, a man came to a sage and asked: I want to love God, show me the way?
The sage asked him:
In your life, have you loved anyone?
The man:
No, I want to love God Himself!
The sage:
Have you loved a woman? Have you loved children?
The man:
- No, I want to love only God!
The sage:
- This is the wrong path; you must first learn to love your close ones - this is where love for God begins.
