MUKSINOV Munir Nigmatullovich (1912—1980). Architect M. I. Muksinov was born in the city of Kuldja, Xinjiang province in China.
In 1940, he graduated from the architectural faculty of the Leningrad Institute of Civil Engineering. He was a participant in the Great Patriotic War.
He worked in Kyrgyzstan starting in 1947. From 1948 to 1956, he was the head of the general plans department at the All-Union Institute "Giproles-trans" in Leningrad. Since 1956, he returned to work in Kyrgyzstan: first at the institute "Kyrgyzgiprogorselstroy," from 1957 to 1960 — chief architect of the city of Frunze, later until 1965 — at the design institute "Kyrgyzgiprostroy" and the State Construction Committee of the Kyrgyz SSR. From 1965 to 1975, he was an associate professor and taught at the "Architecture" department of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute.
The most significant works of M. N. Muksinov are associated with Przhevalsk: this includes the general plan of the city and the buildings of the regional executive committee and regional consumer union (1947), the city racetrack (1948), as well as the general plan of the workers' settlement Pristan Przhevalsk (1947). Later, he participated in the development of residential area planning in Frunze. In collaboration with E. Pisarsky, in 1963, he completed the project for detailed planning and development of the southeast residential area in Frunze. Over time, a large number of standard projects for residential buildings and public buildings of mass use were developed.
AFONIN Petr Alexandrovich (1912—1978). Architect P. A. Afonin, a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, was born in the village of Dvoryansky-Umys in the Penza region and was a participant in the Great Patriotic War. In 1947, he graduated from the architectural faculty of the Kharkov Institute of Engineers of Communal Construction. Since 1948, he worked in the Architecture Department of Kyrgyzstan.
One of the most interesting works of P. A. Afonin, completed in collaboration with architects V. Ochinsky, I. Lyubinsky, and V. Konovalov, is the building of the design institute "Kyrgyzgiprostroy" on Soviet Square in Frunze.
From 1960 to 1969, P. A. Afonin served as the chief architect of the city of Frunze. After retiring in 1972, he continued to work in the planning department of the State Construction Committee of the Kyrgyz SSR until the last days of his life.
