BALANDIN Pyotr Vladimirovich
Architect. Born in 1926 in the village of Kozlovka, Petrovsky District, Saratov Region. In 1953, he graduated from the Tashkent Art College, and in 1959, from the architectural faculty of the Repin Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
From 1959 to 1969, he worked as an architect, senior architect, and chief architect of the Osh department of the "Kyrgyzgiprostroy" institute. From 1969 to 1983, he served as the chief architect of the city of Osh, and since 1983, he has been the chief architect of the Osh department of "Kyrgyzgiprostroy." Since 1964, he has been the chairman of the Art Council of the city, currently a member of the City Visual Propaganda Council and the Urban Planning Council.
From 1984 to 1985, he was the chairman of the board of the Osh branch of the Union of Architects.
He was awarded the medal "For Valorous Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V. I. Lenin" (1970), a Certificate of Honor from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR (1980), and the "Veteran of Labor" medal (1983).
Member of the Union of Architects of the USSR since 1966.
In his practical work, he was involved in construction and landscaping projects, volumetric design of buildings and structures, and planning of quarters and microdistricts in cities and district centers of the Osh region. P. V. Balandin made a significant contribution to the formation of the urban planning structure of the city of Osh. With his direct participation, the territories in the city center and outskirts were organized. The clay construction was replaced by blocks of modern residential buildings and public structures, new highways and residential streets were established, adorned by buildings constructed according to his designs and those of his colleagues from Osh.
