
Aitieva Gapar Aitieviсh
Painter. Corresponding Member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of the State Prize of the Kyrgyz SSR named after Toktogul. Born on September 28, 1912, in the village of Tuleyken, Kara-Suu District, Osh Region. In 1932, he graduated from the Kyrgyz Institute of Education. From 1935 to 1938, he studied at the Moscow Art School "In Memory of 1905" under N.P. Krymov and P.I. Petrovichev.
From 1932 to 1934, he taught at the Jalal-Abad Pedagogical Technical School.
Since 1934, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Participant of the First Republican Art Exhibition (1934).
One of the first professional artists of the Kyrgyz people, G. Aitieva entered the history of Kyrgyz visual art as a master of landscape painting, an author of narrative-themed paintings and portraits, as well as a number of monumental and easel sculptures. However, the main direction of his work became landscape painting, in which he achieved a complete synthesis of his aesthetic views and their artistic embodiments.
Since 1977, he led a workshop at the Academy of Arts of the USSR in Frunze, where graduates of art universities studied.
He was awarded the Order of Lenin, two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of the Badge of Honor, medals for "Labor Valor," "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," "For Diligent Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of V.I. Lenin's Birth," and ten Certificates of Honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Participant in republican and international exhibitions. His works are held in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitieva, the Kyrgyz State Historical Museum, as well as in museums of the CIS and abroad.
