Akmedov Melis Haidarovich



Graphic artist. Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic. Born on June 10, 1940, in the city of Margilan, Uzbek SSR. In 1964, he graduated from the Frunze Art College and in 1970 - from the graphic faculty of the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov, under the guidance of Professor S.A. Dekhtyarev in the book graphics workshop. He worked as an art editor at the "Mektep" publishing house (1970-1978). Since 1972, he has been teaching at the Frunze Art College.

Since 1974, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

He works in book and easel graphics. As a book artist, he works on the design and illustration of works by Kyrgyz writers and poets. In easel graphics, he works in series, developing themes of rural and urban life as well as sports. He has participated in republican, all-Union, and international exhibitions.

His works are held in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, as well as in museums in near and far abroad.
