
Dukhanin Alexander Ivanovich
Painter. Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR. Born in 1924 in the village of Ivanovka, Kant District, Chui Region. In 1951, he graduated from the painting and pedagogical department of the Odessa Art School. Since 1961, he taught at the Frunze Art School (from 1951 to 1960, he was the head of the educational department).
He worked in narrative-themed painting and landscape. The basis of his creative method was working from life. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd class, medals "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," "For Valorous Labor," Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR, and the badge "Excellence in Public Education of the Kyrgyz SSR."
Participant in republican and all-union exhibitions. The best works of Dukhanin are kept in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, as well as in art galleries abroad.
