
Zarkunov Marat Asanovich
Monumental painter. Born on September 16, 1959, in the village of Min-Bulak, Naryn District, Naryn Region. In 1980, he graduated from the S.A. Chuykov Kyrgyz State Art College and in 1991 - from the Estonian State Art Institute, Department of Monumental Painting. From 1982 to 1985, he was a drawing and drafting teacher at the Min-Bulak Secondary School. From 1991 to 1995, he worked at the Art Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic and taught at the S.A. Chuykov Kyrgyz State Art College, and from 1999 to 2003, he taught at the I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State Pedagogical University. Since 2003, he has been an associate professor at the I. Razakov Kyrgyz State Technical University.
Since 1996, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic. Zarkunov is interested in cabinet stained glass, which dates back to the medieval times. He also works in graphics and is known for his monumental works.
Participant in national and international exhibitions. His works are in private collections.
