
Kerimbek Bukar (Akmatov)
Graphic artist. Born on April 20, 1959, in the village of Ak-Teres, Jeti-Oguz district, Issyk-Kul region. In 1982, he graduated from the S. A. Chuykov Kyrgyz State Art College, and then in 1990 from the V.I. Surikov Moscow State Academic Institute of Fine Arts. Since 1991, he has been training in a creative workshop on graphics at the Russian Academy of Arts.
Since 1992, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic. He is a participant in national and international exhibitions.
The best works of the artist are held in the Russian Academy of Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow, the Novosibirsk Art Gallery, and in private collections abroad.
Awarded the Silver Medal of the Academy of Arts of the USSR for the best diploma work in 1990, the First Prize at the III International Biennale of Contemporary Graphics in 2003, and a Diploma from the Union of Artists of the USSR "for achievements in creativity, significant contribution to exhibition activities, and assistance in the development of visual arts in the CIS countries."
