
Maturaimov Zhyrgalbai
Film artist. Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic. Born on May 19, 1955, in the village of Ak-Djar, Osh region. In 1974, he graduated from the Frunze Art School. In 1984, he graduated from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography. From 1974 to 1975, he worked in the artistic production workshops of the city of Osh. From 1984 to 1986, he worked at the "Kyrgyzfilm" studio. Since 1986, he has been a teacher of one-year courses for decorator artists.
His works reflect his knowledge of the everyday life, traditions, and customs of the Kyrgyz people, as well as his love for his native land. Art director for the films: "Bridge" (dir. A. Kamchibekov), "Who Are You, Ellie" and "Night of the Demon" (dir. M. Minzhylkiev), "Dilettante" (dir. A. Kamchibekov and Zh. Soodanbek).
Participant in republican, all-union, and international exhibitions. The works of Zh. Maturaimov are housed in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, as well as in private collections in Kyrgyzstan and abroad.
Since 1991, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic.
