Graphic artist. Born on June 1, 1928, in the village of Bagysh, Suzak district, Osh region. In 1951, he graduated from the Tashkent Art College, and in 1958 - from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin. Since 1978, he has lived in Osh. He worked on the design of books and magazines, as well as creating propaganda posters. He is known as a graphic artist (drawing, linocut, watercolor).

He first participated in a republican exhibition

Since 1948 - a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1958.

Omurkulov's first works were posters and book graphics. But soon he preferred watercolor and easel prints, mainly linoleum engraving. The main thematic, landscape, and portrait cycles of M. Omurkulov were created in watercolor and linocut techniques.

In the cycles of linocuts "In One Ail" (1959), "On the Road from Frunze to Osh" (1961), "Decree on Peace and Land" (1967), the series of watercolors "Leaders of Agriculture" (1977), and the series of drawings "Song of Lenin" (1965), Omurkulov depicted the features of modern life of the Kyrgyz people.

In his watercolor sheets, he always remained true to nature, depicting it in detail and attentively. The best watercolors of M. Omurkulov are sheets painted in the south of Kyrgyzstan. The artist's works are held in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev and in museums of the CIS.
