
Akim Alekseevich Sgibnev
(1912-1986)Graphic artist. Born on September 8, 1912, in the village of Cherepanovka, Pokrovsky District, Chkalov Region.
Since 1948 - member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
A. Sgibnev's works are original, direct, and sincere. The heroes of his paintings are simple people of Kyrgyzstan - shepherds, collective farmers, rural women, and children, whose lives he observed during numerous trips across the republic. Sgibnev mastered the expressive possibilities of black-and-white and color lithography, linocut, and etching.
Participant in republican and all-Union exhibitions. His best works are housed in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev.
