
Artyukhov Oleg Borisovich
Film critic. Born on January 14, 1937, in Tashkent. In 1954, he graduated from high school in Frunze and enrolled in the philological faculty of Kyrgyz State University. After graduating from KSU in 1961, he worked until 1966 as an educator and seriously engaged in journalism.
Since 1963, he has regularly published reviews, overview articles about Soviet and foreign films, reports from the sets of new films, and creative portraits of directors and actors of Kyrgyz cinema in the newspapers "Soviet Kyrgyzstan," "Komsomolets of Kyrgyzstan," "Komsomolskaya Pravda," and the magazines "Ala-Too," "Literary Kyrgyzstan."
From 1966 to 1968, O. Artyukhov worked as a consultant for the Board of the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan and as acting director of the Kyrgyz branch of the Bureau for the Propagation of Soviet Cinematic Art. Since 1965, he has been actively lecturing, speaking to audiences in cities and villages across the republic.
From 1969 to 1971, he was a literary staff member at the newspaper "Komsomolets of Kyrgyzstan," where he headed the literature and arts department. In 1976-1977, he was a senior literary staff member at the magazine "Propagandist and Agitator of Kyrgyzstan." From 1971 to 1976 and from 1978 to 1980, he was a freelance (contract) correspondent for the State Committee of the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR for television and radio broadcasting.
In 1974, the book "On the Wings of Cinema" by the film critic was published by the "Kyrgyzstan" publishing house, analyzing the works of directors Gennady Bazarov, Tolomush Okeeva, Bolotbek Shamshiev, cameraman Kadyrzhan Kydyraliev, and actors Bolot Beishenaliev and Suimen Kul Chokmorov.
From 1970 to 1980, O. Artyukhov conducted scientific research on the history of the development of documentary cinema in Kyrgyzstan and other Central Asian republics and Kazakhstan.
Member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR since 1968.
