Screenwriter. Born on December 24, 1933, in the village of Ananyev, Issyk-Kul region. After graduating from high school in 1952, he entered the Far Eastern Faculty of the Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies. Due to the closure of this university, I. Ibragimov became a student in 1954 first at the Moscow Geological Exploration Institute, then at the Frunze Polytechnic Institute.

In 1959, he worked as an engineer at the design institute "Kyrgyzgiprovodkhoz". From 1960 to 1976, he worked at the Institute of Geology of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR as a senior laboratory assistant, junior and senior research associate. In 1967, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences. Since 1976, he has been an associate professor at Kyrgyz State University. He is the author of 30 scientific works.

Based on I. Ibragimov's scripts, the Kyrgyzfilm studio produced popular science and documentary films such as "Ancient Paths" (1966), "Hunting Crossroads" (1967), "Lava" (1970, special diploma at the festival of films about the working class in Gorky in 1971), "Designers" (1973), "Kyrgyz Souvenirs" (1975), and at the Kyrgyztelefilm studio — the popular science film "Komuz" (1967) and the essay "The Right to Die in the Herd" (1977).

In 1975, the film story "The Road to Kara-Kiyik" (dir. U. Ibragimov) was released, published in the magazine "Literary Kyrgyzstan" in 1972 under the title "The Happiness of Mamytbekov".

Member of the USSR Writers' Union since 1977.
