
Ismanov Khusain
Gunner of the 76-mm gun of the 86th separate guards anti-tank artillery division (82nd Guards Rifle Division, 8th Guards Army, 1st Belorussian Front), Guards Sergeant.
Born on January 24, 1924, in the village of Orok, now in the Sokuluk District of the Chuy Region of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, in a peasant family. Kyrgyz. Completed 7 grades of school. Worked as the secretary of the village council of the "Djal" collective farm in the Alamedin District of the same region.
In January 1943, he was drafted into the Red Army by the Alamedin military enlistment office. In the reserve regiment, he received training as a gunner. From October 1943, he participated in battles against the invaders as part of the 82nd Guards Rifle Division. He took part in the expulsion of the fascists from Ukraine, crossed the Vistula River, fought on the Magnuszew bridgehead, liberated Warsaw, and stormed Berlin. A member of the VKP(b)/CPSU since 1944.
From August 18 to September 10, 1944, 5 km south of the city of Magnuszew (Poland), during the breakthrough of the enemy's defenses and the retention of the bridgehead on the left bank of the Vistula River, Guards Sergeant Ismanov, as part of his crew, repelled 4 counterattacks by enemy tanks and infantry, destroyed 2 tanks, an armored personnel carrier, suppressed 3 machine guns, an anti-tank gun, and killed more than 10 Nazis.
By order dated November 3, 1944, Guards Sergeant Ismanov Khusain was awarded the Order of Glory 3rd class (No. 173940).
On January 14, 1945, during the battles to break through the deeply echeloned defenses of the enemy in the area of the Magnuszew bridgehead, Guards Sergeant Ismanov, being ahead of the infantry's battle formations, during intense artillery preparation and pursuit of the enemy, destroyed 2 pillboxes, a dugout, and up to 15 Nazis with the fire of his gun.
By order dated March 4, 1945, Guards Sergeant Ismanov Khusain was awarded the Order of Glory 2nd class (No. 23994).
On February 21-22, 1945, during the storming of the city of Poznań (Poland), Guards Sergeant Ismanov, along with his crew, advanced with the attackers, supporting the infantry with fire. In these battles, he destroyed 3 machine gun positions, broke 2 dugouts, and killed up to 15 Nazis. He was recommended for the award of the Order of Glory 1st class.
In the final battles, he earned another award - the Order of the Red Star.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 31, 1945, for exemplary performance of command assignments in battles against the German-fascist invaders, Guards Sergeant Ismanov Khusain was awarded the Order of Glory 1st class (No. 839). He became a full cavalier of the Order of Glory.
In 1947, he was demobilized. He returned to his homeland. He lived in the city of Talas. Worked in the KGB.
On September 28, 1956, Lieutenant Ismanov was killed while on duty.
He was awarded the Orders of the Red Star, three degrees of the Order of Glory, and medals, including the Polish medal "For Warsaw".
His name is inscribed on the memorial plaque in Victory Square in Bishkek.
