Aitmatov Ilgiz Torokulovich
Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, full member of the International Engineering Academy, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR in the field of science and technology, laureate of the State Prize of the Kyrgyz SSR in the field of science and technology.
Born in 1931. Graduated from the Moscow Geological Exploration Institute named after Ordzhonikidze. Currently works as an advisor to the management of the Institute of Geomechanics and Subsurface Development of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Specialist in the field of mining geomechanics, problems of natural and technogenic disasters in mountainous areas, management of rock pressure, and forecasting situations during the development of mineral deposits. Years of experimental research on residual stresses and their manifestations in the deformation of rocks led him to the scientific discovery of the previously unknown "Phenomenon of Sudden Release of Residual Stresses in Rocks".
Awarded medals of the USSR, certificate of honor from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Under his supervision, 4 doctoral and 16 candidate dissertations have been defended. He has published 218 scientific works, including 7 monographs, and is the author of 15 inventions and one scientific discovery.
Main inventions:
1. Method for developing large mineral deposits. Patent No. 827791, 1981.
2. Method for preventing mining-tectonic shocks. Patent No. 164-5558, 1991.
3. Method for predicting mining shocks. Patent No. 1656137, 1991.
4. Method for determining the direction of the principal stress axes in a rock mass. Patent No. 1765395, 1992.
5. Method for preventing mining-tectonic shocks. Patent No. 177-8721, 1992.
