Omuraliyev Mederbek Omuraliyevich
Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences. Born in 1942. In 1962, he graduated from the Mining and Geological Faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute.
Currently, he works as the head of the Seismic Monitoring Center at the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He has compiled and published maps: "Recent Tectonics" and "Seismotectonics of the Kyrgyz SSR" at a scale of 1:500,000, long-term and medium-term seismic hazard maps for the territory of Kyrgyzstan at scales of 1:1,000,000 and 1:500,000. He developed a method for determining the spectra of seismic waves and the dynamic parameters of earthquake foci based on data from broadband stations of the US KNET network, as well as rules for long-term forecasting of strong earthquakes.
He has published 53 scientific works and is the author of 12 inventions.
Main inventions:
1. Method for determining the spatial parameters of an area containing mineral deposits. Preliminary patent of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 133, 1997.
2. Method for determining the zone of dynamic influence of a neotectonic fault. Preliminary patent of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 251, 1998.
3. Method for enriching gold-bearing ores at a processing plant. Preliminary patent of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 348, 1999.
4. Method for predicting the timing of strong aftershocks of an earthquake. Preliminary patent of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 249, 1998.
5. Method for medium-term earthquake forecasting. Preliminary patent of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 250, 1998.
