Sobolin Georgy Vasilievich
Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor. Born in 1930. Worked in a number of research and design institutes in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan in various positions.
Specialist in hydraulic engineering for the construction of small and medium-sized hydroelectric power stations. Designed the following hydroelectric power stations: Uch-Kurgat, Kalininskaya, Sokuluk, On-Archa, and others. Designed hydraulic laboratories: Kyrgyzhydroproject, Institute of Energy of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, Institute of Water Problems of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR. Conducted research in laboratories and field conditions on numerous water intake structures on rivers and facilities on the canals of irrigation and hydraulic systems of the former USSR republics.
As a result of his research, he implemented more than 380 structures in water management facilities in Central Asian countries.
Published over 200 reports and 290 scientific works, including 52 books, and is the author of 7 inventions.
