
Azykova Emilia Kulievna (1935), Doctor of Geographical Sciences (1994)
Kyrgyz. Born in Frunze. Graduated from the Geography Faculty of Moscow State University (1958), and completed her postgraduate studies there (1968).
Worked as a senior laboratory assistant, junior and senior research fellow at the Tien Shan High Mountain Physical Geography Station, senior and leading research fellow, and since 1989 - head of the laboratory at the Institute of Geography of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. Specialist in paleogeography, physical geography, and geoecology. Awarded the USSR Medal (1984). More than 90 scientific works published, including 5 monographs.
Under her supervision, 2 candidate dissertations have been defended.
