
Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Arashan, Alamudun District, Chui Region. Graduated from the Moscow Oil Institute (1958). Worked as a geologist, chief engineer of the "Kyrgyzneft" management, head of department, secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, first secretary of the Issyk-Kul Regional Committee, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR, head of the Chui Regional Administration, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, and since 1999 - Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Germany.
Specialist in the field of mining engineering. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (1992), Member of the International Academy, Honorary Professor, Doctor of several universities. Awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (2), "Badge of Honor." More than 60 scientific works published, including 2 monographs.
