Russian. Born in Frunze. Graduated from KSU (1959). Worked as a laboratory assistant, junior researcher, senior researcher, head of the laboratory, director, head of the glaciology laboratory at TSHFGS, and since 1995 - Deputy Director for Science at the Institute of Geology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. Specialist in glaciology, hydrology, and climatology of high-altitude areas of Central Asia. Published over 80 scientific works, including 8 monographs.
