Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Shor-Bulak, Leilek District, Osh Region.
Graduated from KGU (1965), postgraduate studies at the Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR (1969).
Worked as a senior lecturer, associate professor at KGU, senior scientific editor, head of the editorial office of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia, senior scientific editor at the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, and since 1989, head of the department at the I. Arabayev Kyrgyz State University of Education.
Specialist in Kyrgyz dialectology, onomastics, lexicography, and bibliography.
Laureate of the B. Yunusaliev Award (1994). More than 300 scientific works published, including 7 monographs, 8 textbooks, and dictionaries.
