Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Tort-Kul, Kochkor District, Naryn Region.

Graduated from KGU (1976), and completed postgraduate studies there (1980).

Worked as a secondary school teacher, newspaper correspondent, lecturer, senior lecturer, associate professor, acting professor, dean, and since 1997 - professor and head of the department at KGNU. Specialist in the methodology of teaching Kyrgyz literature.

Academician of the International Public Academy named after Ch. Aitmatov.

Laureate of the J. Balasagyn Award. Published more than 150 scientific works, including 1 monograph and 4 textbooks.

Under his supervision, 3 candidate dissertations have been defended.
