Kyrgyz. Born in the city of Naryn, Naryn Region. Graduated from Przhevalsky State Pedagogical Institute (1972), Kyrgyz State National University (1996).
Worked as a senior laboratory assistant, engineer, junior researcher, senior researcher, leading researcher, head of the laboratory at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR, a consultant in the Department of the Government Apparatus of the Kyrgyz Republic, consultant for the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFSA, Almaty), executive director of IFSA in Kyrgyzstan, and since 1998 - rector of Issyk-Kul State University named after K.Tynystanov (ISU).
Specialist in the field of solid-state physics, spectroscopy, and crystallophysics.
Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Honorary Member of the Advisory Council of the American Biographical Institute of International Scientific Research.
Published more than 180 scientific works, including 2 monographs, 5 textbooks, 6 author’s certificates, and 1 patent.
Under his supervision, 3 doctoral and 5 candidate dissertations have been defended.
