Worked as the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan, First Secretary of the Sverdlovsk District Committee, Second and First Secretary of the Frunze City Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the USSR to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, to the Republic of Maldives, to the Kingdom of Nepal, Deputy Head of the Department for CIS Countries, Ambassador for Special Assignments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, simultaneously - Professor at the Academy of Public Sciences of the Russian Federation, since 1992 - Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United Republic of Tanzania.

Specialist in the field of history and interethnic relations.

Awarded four orders and medals of the USSR.

Published over 100 scientific works, including 2 monographs.
