Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Honorary Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (1999)
Hui (Dungan). Born in the city of Shishidao, Shandong Province, China.
Graduated from Shandong University in Russian (1951), Nanjing Institute of Eastern Languages in Arabic (1953), Beijing Central National Institute in Uyghur (1955), linguistic graduate school at Beijing Central National Institute (1957), and also completed graduate studies in Turkology there (1959).
Worked as Deputy Chairman of the Study of Chinese-Turkic Languages, Professor, Head of Doctoral Studies, and since 1998 - Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Society in Beijing, Professor at the Beijing University of Nationalities.
Specialist in the history of the Kyrgyz. Awarded the Order of "Manas" III degree (2002).
Published over 200 scientific works, including translations of all episodes of the epic "Manas" into Chinese (5 books).
