Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Darkhan, Jeti-Oguz District, Issyk-Kul Region of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Graduated from Przhevalsky Teacher's Institute (1952), KSU (1959).
Worked as the head of the lecture group of the regional committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan, senior researcher at the Institute of History of the Kyrgyz SSR, lecturer at the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, senior researcher at the Institute of the Party under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, vice-rector of the V.V. Mayakovsky Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute, head of the department at the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical University, and since 1999 - Director of the Department of Social Sciences at the I. Arabayev Kyrgyz State Pedagogical University.
Specialist in the history of Kyrgyzstan and the history of the peoples of the Central Asian region.
Academician of the Russian Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences (1996).
Awarded medals of the USSR.
Honored Worker of Public Education of the Kyrgyz Republic (1994).
Published more than 200 scientific works, including 10 monographs and textbooks.
Under his supervision, 5 candidate dissertations have been defended.
