Graduated from the Moscow Institute of Petrochemical and Gas Industry (1965), postgraduate studies there (1969).
Worked as an engineer, junior researcher, senior researcher at the Institute of Geology of the Kyrgyz SSR, head of the Department of FPI, chief geologist of "Kyrgyzgiprovodkhoz", head of the laboratory, and since 1986 - deputy director of the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Specialist in the field of geochemistry and geophysics. Academician of the New York Academy of Sciences (1998).
Published more than 100 scientific works, including 6 monographs and 2 inventions.
Under his supervision, 1 doctoral and 3 candidate dissertations have been defended.
