Kyrgyz. Born in the Nookat District of the Osh Region.
Graduated from KGMI (1966).
Worked as an assistant, associate professor, professor, dean of the medical faculty, head of the department, and vice-rector of KGMA; since 2002 - Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Specialist in neurosurgery. Academician of the New York Academy of Sciences (1999). Awarded the "Dank" medal (1997), gold medal in the nomination "One in a Million" (Cambridge, England, 2001).
Honored Doctor of the Kyrgyz Republic (1989).
Honored Figure of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (1999). Honorary Member of the Association of Neurosurgeons of Russia (2002).
Published more than 130 scientific works, including 2 monographs, 4 inventions, and 5 textbooks.
Under his supervision, 3 candidate dissertations have been defended.
