Russian. Born in Leningrad, Russia. Graduated from Leningrad State University (Leningrad, 1931).
Served as Dean of the Geological Faculty at Leningrad State University.
Specialist in the field of geotectonics. Published over 50 scientific works, including a monograph.
Under his supervision, doctoral and candidate dissertations were defended.
