Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Predtechanka, Moscow District.
Graduated from Novosibirsk State University (1965), and completed postgraduate studies there (1968).
Worked as a teacher, senior teacher, associate professor at KGU, head of the Department of Physics and Engineering, vice-rector, rector of KGNU, Minister of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, and since 2000 - vice-rector of KGNU. Specialist in the field of atmospheric physics and space research.
Academician of the New York Academy of Sciences (1998), International California Academy of Industry (USA, 1999).
Awarded the Honorary Certificate of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR (1980), Order of the "Badge of Honor" (1986).
Laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize of the Kyrgyz SSR (1974).
Published more than 120 scientific works, including 7 monographs, 30 textbooks, and patents.
Under his supervision, 2 doctoral and 6 candidate dissertations have been defended.
