Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Ottyk, Tian-Shan region of Naryn province.
Graduated from KGU (1977), postgraduate studies there (1982), doctoral studies at the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (1993).
Worked as a literary employee for the regional newspaper, senior editor at the "Mektep" publishing house, lecturer at KGNU, leading research fellow at the Institute of Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, and since 2000 - professor at KTU "Manas".
Specialist in the field of philology (lexicology, phonetics, grammar, and stylistics).
Academician of the International Public Aitmatov Academy (1994).
Published more than 50 scientific works, including 2 monographs and 1 textbook.
Under his supervision, 2 candidate dissertations have been defended.
