Apas Jumagulov on Kyrgyz Women
The history of the development of world civilization is largely the story of the increasing role of women in the social development of society. There are many examples of selfless, and often self-sacrificing, service by women for the good of their country in the history of Kyrgyzstan.
Women have repeatedly taken on the immense burden of responsibility for the future of the people and the fate of the homeland. The great spirit of women - the guardians of the "family hearth" - during years of war, political strife, and ideological contradictions did not allow us to fall into a state of social apathy; it gave strength and energy for creation to the people. The great daughters of Kyrgyzstan - Kurmanzhan Datka, S. Begmatova, Z. Kainazarova, O. Atabekova, S. Nogojeva, K. Shopokova, A. Yumata, K. Usubaliev, S. Kiyizbaeva, O. Manuilova, D. Kuiukova, B. Kydykeeva, S. Kumushalieva, K. Konduchalova, X. Karimova, N. Abdrakhmanova, Sh. Sherkulova, and many, many others will remain an eternal example of high service to the Motherland.
Our women are beloved mothers, wives, friends, work colleagues, and the support of the family, who have voluntarily taken on their fragile shoulders the responsibilities of raising children - the main meaning of our lives, creating warmth and comfort at home. And despite all this, they have also taken on the responsibility of addressing the most pressing social issues of societal development - issues of survival, adaptation, maintaining the viability, and preserving the healthy gene pool of the nation. The increasing influence of women in the current situation is hard to overestimate. Women's public organizations, with their inherent tolerance, social initiative, and civic capability, help to resolve a problematic spectrum of issues both in their traditional areas of interest - education, health, ecology, etc. - and in new spheres of activity - public and state policy, legislation, economics, etc. The impact of women's organizations on society and state institutions is now such that they can be considered one of the most important centers of influence, and thus - as powerful tools of social governance. Therefore, social recognition at the state level should serve as a stimulating factor for the activation of women's public organizations in the political sphere. The growing potential of influence of women's organizations and women leaders on the socio-political and economic life of the country dictates the necessity for competent and full-fledged use of this social force and compels us to reconsider the entire concept of social governance and the formation of civil society.
I am deeply convinced that the Kyrgyz nation will exist as long as it remains united, and it will remain united as long as we honor our mothers and parents and follow their moral teachings!
I am confident that in the future, the women of Ala-Too will do everything to preserve our multinational common home - Kyrgyzstan - together with their people, to increase its wealth, and to make its children happy!
