
In 1956, he graduated from a boarding school in his native village, and in 1965, he graduated from the philological faculty of KSU.
He began his work biography in 1956 as a pioneer leader at a secondary school in Lenin District, Osh Region. In 1965, he was appointed as an editor at the State Committee for Television and Radio of the Kyrgyz SSR. From 1968 to 1978, he worked as a teacher of the Kyrgyz language and literature at Secondary School No. 6 in Tash-Kumyr, and since 1978, he has been working at Secondary School No. 26 named after the 50th anniversary of the VLKSM in Lenin District.
He has been publishing since 1956, mainly writing for children and youth.
M. Karimov's first book was the novella "Baarybyz bala bolgonbuz" ("We All Were Children"), published in 1973.
He has been a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1983.
