Poet, prose writer, translator T. Kozubekov was born on February 10, 1937, in the village of Kyzyl-Djar, Leninpol District, Talas Region, in a peasant family. In 1955, he graduated from Talas Secondary School No. 1, and in 1961, he graduated from the philological faculty of K. GU.Since 1962, he worked as an editor, senior editor of children's broadcasting at the State Television and Radio Committee of the Kyrgyz SSR, and from 1974 as a senior editor, head of the department, and deputy head of the Publishing Management of the State Publishing House of the Kyrgyz SSR. From 1977, he served as a referent in the department of socio-cultural institutions and assistant to the deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR. Since 1984, he was head of the sector in the department of agitation and propaganda of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan.
He has been published since his student years. His first poetry collection "Biz baktyluu baldarbyz" ("We are happy children") was published in 1970. He is the author of several poetry collections, fairy tales, short stories, and translations into Kyrgyz of works by La Guma Alex, S. Aksakov, S. Zlobin, the medieval monument "Blessed Knowledge" by Y. Balasagyn, and others.
He has been a member of the CPSU since 1973 and a member of the USSR Union of Writers since 1982.
He was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR.
