Poet Akynbek KuruchbekovPoet A. Kuruchbekov was born on December 5, 1922 — November 29, 1988, in the village of Eryktu, Kalinin District of the Kyrgyz SSR, in a peasant family. After graduating from the Erkinsai seven-year school in 1940, he studied at the Frunze Hydromelioration Technical School and graduated from a two-year law school in Frunze in 1947.
In 1941, he was drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army and served in a cavalry regiment. In 1942, he was seriously wounded and, after hospitalization, was discharged to the reserve.
From 1943 to 1945, he worked as an accountant in his native collective farm and as the secretary of the Sarygoy Village Council.
In 1947, he was appointed a member of the Tien-Shan Regional Court, in 1951 — chairman of the presidium of the Jalal-Abad Regional Bar Association, and in 1952 — people's judge of the Toktogul District.
From 1954, he served as deputy chairman of the Jalal-Abad Regional Court, from 1955 — a member of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz SSR, and from 1962 — a member of the legal commission under the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR.
From 1968, he worked as a literary employee at the editorial office of the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Madeniyaty," and from 1971 to 1974 — as a scientific editor at the Main Editorial Office of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia of the Kyrgyz SSR.
His creative biography began in the 1950s. His first poetry collection "Atama kat" ("Letter to Father") was published in 1965. The poet's works have also been published in Russian.
He has been a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1949 and a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1970.
He was awarded the Orders of the Patriotic War I and II degrees, medals "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945," "20 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945," "50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR," and others.
