Poet, Translator Esentur Kylychev

Poet, translator Esentur KilychevPoet and translator E. Kilychev was born on February 2, 1952, in the village of Ak-Kiya, Tien-Shan district of Naryn region, in a teacher's family.
In 1969, he graduated from Kyrgyz Secondary School No. 5 named after A. S. Pushkin in Frunze and enrolled in the philological faculty of KGU, from which he transferred to Leningrad State University named after A. A. Zhdanova in his third year and graduated in 1975.
He began his career as a literary worker, then became an editor, and since 1980 has been the executive secretary of the magazine "Ala-Too".
He has been published since 1967. His first poetry collection "Under" ("Voices") was published in 1975. He has translated works by K. Chukovsky, N. Pogodin, I. Milev, and others into Kyrgyz.
A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1979, and a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1981.
Awarded Honorary Certificates from the Central Committee of the Komsomol of the USSR and the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan.
