
From 1960 to 1963, he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army. Since 1963, he worked as a teacher of machine engineering and physical education at the Zhaksyn Secondary School (Turgai region of the Kazakh SSR), from 1964 he was a literary employee and head of the department at the editorial office of the Zhaksyn District Newspaper "Zarya Kommunizma", from 1966 he served as deputy editor of the district newspaper "Kommunisticheskiy Trud" (Dzhambul region), and since 1973 he has been an instructor at the Mangyshlak Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan.
Since 1974, he has lived in Kyrgyzstan. He has worked as a correspondent for the newspaper "Sovetskaya Kyrgyzstan", from 1976 as editor of the newspaper "Komsomolets Kyrgyzstana", from 1978 in the apparatus of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, and since 1985 as deputy chief editor of the magazine "Kommunist Kyrgyzstana". At the VII Congress of the Writers' Union of the Republic, he was elected secretary of the board of the Writers' Union (1987).
He has been published since 1958. His first book was a collection of stories titled "Bright Sadness", published in 1980. He translated the book by Sh. Sadybakassov "Difficult Pass".
A member of the CPSU since 1964, a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1983.
Awarded medals "For the Development of Virgin Lands", "For Diligent Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V. I. Lenin", and an Honorary Certificate from the Central Committee of the Komsomol.
