Prose writer, poet Junay Mavlyanov


Prose writer and poet J. Mavlyanov was born in the village of Renzhit (now the village of Kosh-Tyube) in the Jangi-Jol district of the Osh region in a peasant family.
In 1941, he graduated from the Jalal-Abad Pedagogical School, in 1950 — from the Jalal-Abad Teacher's Institute, and in 1952 — from the correspondence department of KRU-
From 1961 to 1963, he was a student at the Higher Literary Courses under the Union of Writers of the USSR in Moscow. From 1942 to 1944, he served on the front lines of the Great Patriotic War and was severely wounded.
He began his labor biography in 1941 as a teacher in the seven-year schools of the villages of Aflatun and Renzhit.
From 1944 to 1956, he worked as a teacher, deputy director, and director of the Tash-Tyube Secondary School named after A. M. Gorky, and from 1963 to 1966 — as the director of the Karavanskaya boarding school.
From 1966 to 1971, he was the secretary of the board of the Writers' Union of Kyrgyzstan, and from 1971 to 1988 — the editor of the newspaper "Mugalimder gazetasy".
He began his creative biography as a poet. In 1960, his first poetry collection "Zhurok" ("Heart") was published. His first prose book was the novella "Bekish, saga emne bold?" ("What happened to you, Bekish?"). He is the author of three poetry collections, three novels, several collections of novellas and short stories published in his native and Russian languages, many essays, and journalistic articles. Some of the writer's works have been published in Uzbek, Tajik, Latvian, and Tatar languages.
The writer translated B. Mungunov's novella "Black Wind" and V. Sukhomlinsky's book "Letter to a Son" into Kyrgyz.
Honored Teacher of the Kyrgyz SSR (1973).

Member of the CPSU since 1951, member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1960.
Awarded the Orders of the Patriotic War I degree, the Red Banner of Labor, the "Badge of Honor", medals "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941—1945", "For Valorous Labor in the Great Patriotic War 1941—1945", "20 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941—1945", "For Valorous Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V. I. Lenin", "Labor Veteran", and others, as well as Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
