
Since 1957, he has worked in the editorial office of the Jalal-Abad regional newspaper "Kommunizm tuusu," then as a literary employee in the editorial office of the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan pioneri," and as a senior editor of the literary editorial office in the State Television and Radio Committee of the Kyrgyz SSR. From 1967 to 1981, he served as head of the department in the editorial office of the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan madaniyaty." He is currently engaged in creative work.
He has been published since 1952. His first poetry collection "Jailoo" was published in 1962. He is the author of more than ten poetry collections in his native language and two collections in Russian, as well as five translated editions. He has participated in many collective translated anthologies. Notable in the poet's translation activity are the collections of proverbs and sayings of the peoples of the USSR "Narodnaya zhemchuzhina" (1981) and "Klad" (1987).
He has been a member of the CPSU since 1962, a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1966, and a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR since 1959.
