Critic, literary scholar Mikhail Rudov


Critic and literary scholar M. Rudov was born in the city of Rudiya, Smolensk region. He is a graduate of an orphanage.
In 1950, he graduated from the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute named after M. V. Frunze, and in 1953, he completed his postgraduate studies.
Since 1953, he has been working at KSU as a lecturer, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor, and head of the Department of Theory and History of Russian Literature. He is a candidate of philological sciences (1953).
He has been publishing since 1950. His main works are dedicated to Russian and Kyrgyz literatures, as well as interethnic connections in literature.
In 1967, his first book "The Party Representative" was published, which discusses the activities of Dm. Furmanov in Semirechye. In 1970, a collection of literary-critical articles titled "Links of Discoveries" was published, among others.
He is a co-author of the textbook "Russian Soviet Literature" for the 10th grade of Kyrgyz schools. Literary-critical articles about the works of Kyrgyz writers and the paths of development of modern Kyrgyz literature are frequently published in central and republican press. He is the compiler and author of prefaces in collections of works by Kyrgyz writers translated into Russian: "Mountain Springs. Stories by Kyrgyz Writers" (1979), "Kyrgyz Novellas" (1982), "Songs of the Heavenly Mountains" (1987).
He was awarded the title of Honored Teacher of the Kyrgyz SSR (1979).
He has been a member of the CPSU since 1952 and a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1971.
