Poet Kurbanaly Sabirov

Poet K. Sabirov was born on April 17, 1942, in the village of Gordoy, in the Lailak district of the Osh region, in a teacher's family.
In 1960, he graduated from high school in his native village, and in 1966, he graduated from the philological faculty of KGU.
He began his labor biography in 1966 as a teacher of his native language and literature at a school in the Batken district, and from 1969 he worked as a correspondent for the Osh regional television and radio committee. From 1974 until the end of his life, he was an editor at the publishing house "Kyrgyzstan".
He engaged in poetic creativity from childhood. His first poetry collection "Kozu Baglan" was published in 1974. Some of his works were published in Russian. He translated the poems of I. Tokmakova and the novel and story by Vietnamese writers Bui Dyk Ai and Nguyen Tuan.
He was a co-author of translated editions of the works of I. Goethe, D. Kugultinov, and other collective thematic collections.
He was a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1979.
He passed away on June 6, 1981.
