
In 1931, he entered the Tokmak Agricultural Technical School, and in 1932, he transferred to the preparatory department of the Zooveterinary Institute in Frunze, but did not complete it. In 1947, he graduated from the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute, and in 1951—postgraduate studies at the Institute of Language and Literature of the Kyrgyz Academy of Sciences. In 1953, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences.
The writer's first book was a collection of stories and essays titled "Emgetke" ("In Labor"), published in 1950. He is the author of several collections of novellas and stories, poetry collections, research works in the field of Kyrgyz literary studies, monographs, and numerous articles. He is the compiler of a two-volume collection of works by Toktogul Satylganov, a two-volume collection of Togolok Moldo, works by Sh. Termechikov, A. Tynibekov, and the epic "Kedeykan".
Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR (1981).
Member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1944, member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1947.
Awarded medals "For Valorous Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945", "For Valorous Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V. I. Lenin", and a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
